Back on Track…Again
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:07 pm

So this is my final night of my lovely and now very finished “holiday”. It was fast but well needed. I got a chance to finish up some odds and ends with my own life, and I finished up my HUGE chunks of homework and projects a few days ago. I have thoroughly enjoyed sleeping in and getting out of bed by noon, as well as GOING to bed by 2:00 am…for me that is called a luxury! But ya know, now that I think of it, I like going to bed around 2:00 am-not much later. There is just something wierd about going to bed when the sun rises for me now…because I LOVE sun and sunny days..it lifts my spirits and makes my energy rise! (more…)

The 10 Minute Man
posted by LisaDarlene at 12:43 am

It sometimes fascinates me…men..interesting creatures…they don’t seem to care about how they look. Does the shirt smell clean? Any stains? Do the pants fit and the shoes slide on? If they can answer yes to more than 2, the man will be out of the house in 10 minutes. Oh is the hair all parted or gelled down? Double hooray for them as they stroll out the door. (more…)

Let the sleeeeep begin!!!
posted by LisaDarlene at 12:16 am

Today has marked day number ONE of my week long holiday. Ahhh yes, that is what I love most about being in University-the long breaks. Since I am in the Education department, we get our one week reading break a good 2 ish weeks earlier than the rest of the faculty. I don’t really know why, but I certainly won’t complain!! So for this entire week I do not have to wake up at 7:30 am or go to bed (TRY TO) at 1:00 am and deal with 14 hour days! Just sleeping in today was PERFECT. I woke up early of course, but didn’t get out of bed until 1:30 or so. It also helped that I didn’t have to teach tonight because of our family day holiday (Thank you Ralph Klein!!!). (more…)

Second Thoughts
posted by LisaDarlene at 12:26 am

Wow-I MUST have more than an hour on my hands if I am writing two entries in one night and ALL before midnight!! Well, this one is it and then I will call it a night.I miss my bed and sleep misses me.

Lately I have been sitting here wondering if being a potential teacher with the school board is a good idea. Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE my classes and practicum. I find this degree to be way more exciting than my music degree, but next year by this time, I will have made contact with different school boards for a job of some sort. (more…)

Upper Crust, Bad Taste
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:00 pm

Today was an interesting day for chatting with the office staff where I work. I got to the school far earlier than planned and felt that if I was to sit for any longer than 5 minutes, I would fall asleep. I decided to roam around and talk to some people. It is neat to catch up with the staff that you only get to say Hi to on your way up the stairs to your studio. One teacher who is 27 (cool person), told me she had just moved out of her parents house. She was so excited and another teacher gave her a housewarming present…a toaster! How nice! Her mom is bipolar, so it was all a clash of differences by her being in the house. She is looking forward to a new place and not having to answer to anyone. (more…)

When You Say You Love Me
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:58 am

To My Valentine,

Like the sound of silence calling,
I hear your voice and suddenly I’m falling,
Lost in a dream.

Like the echo of our souls are meeting,
You say those words and my heart stops beating,
I wonder what it means.

What could it be
that comes over me?
At times I can’t move,
at times I can hardly breathe.

When you say you love me,
the world goes still,
so still inside,
And when you say you love me,
for a moment there’s no one else alive.

You’re the one I’ve always thought of,
I don’t know how I feel sheltered in your love,
You’re where I belong.

And when you touch me, if I close my eyes,
There are times I swear I feel like I can fly.

For a moment in time,
Somewhere between the heavens and earth,
I’m frozen in time,
Oh, when you say those words.

When you say you love me,
the world goes still,
so still inside,
And when you say you love me,
for a moment there’s no one else alive.

And this journey that we’re on,
how far we’ve come and I celebrate every moment.
And when you say you love me,
that’s all you have to say,

I’ll always feel this way.

When you say you love me,
the world goes still,
so still inside,
And when you say you love me,
for a moment there’s no one else alive.

When you say you love me,
Do you know how I love….you?

(Sung by Josh Groban)

Russel,

I love you with as much meaning as these three little words can possibly convey.

XOXO
Lisa :)

Does Size Matter?
posted by LisaDarlene at 1:11 am

Size 8. Size 12. Plus size.Petite. Size 0.

So many numbers-so many labels on women. No wonder we are always wanting to be a smaller number!! Our society has made it so that the quintessential size du jour is a “Size 6″. The models are all that size…ok maybe size 0 if they don’t eat for a few months. (more…)

A Day of a Birth
posted by LisaDarlene at 1:15 am

Well here I am…three days late…no surprise seeming that I was born 2 weeks late. I just wanted to post a few cute stories that happened to me on my birthday (Feb 8th) and some pictures to remember that day by. For me, I felt as if the weekend BEFORE the 8th was my real birthday, so I wasn’t as depressed when the actual day hit. Hard to believe that I am 26 though-how wierd…utterly. (more…)

Double Trouble
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:26 pm

What a great weekend I had!! A handful of months ago, my friend and fellow Aquarian Michelle (whose birthday is 6 days before mine) had mentioned that her and I should combine our birthdays together in February. I have to admit that I am not much of a birthday girl-I don’t have parties, I only go to them. I don’t need that extra gift or drink on a night that I turn one year older, but I thought that this time around I would just do it! We planned the party about 3 weeks ago and invited some of our buddies. I wanted to keep the whole thing rather small on my end which is always ideal for me. I was never one to like the big and impersonal parties-much more for the smaller and more intimate ones. (more…)

Just Another Day
posted by LisaDarlene at 1:07 pm

Well here I am again-wow I sure don’t seem to be writing in me old bloggie as of late. Not that I don’t want to, but the story of my life is that I am SO busy-and it will only get worse worse worse as the days go by. February is here with some unusually warm weather-gotta LOVE that. This weekend will see a friend and myself host our own birthday party. She already had her birthday yesterday, and mine will be on the 8th-but months ago we said that we should combine them and do something fun.

I have to admit, I have never been for having my own birthday parties-just a quiet day with family or friends has been enough for me. I just don’t see the big deal, but I do try to go to my friends parties when they have them. I love shopping for the right gifts and I usually find neat ideas. Well the past few weeks have been super in terms of weather-plus degree digits and low key. We have planned our party at a cool place (for which I will not name here) that I have never been to-it will be small, just a handful of my buddies and of course my heart, himself. Alicia will be coming in to town to stay with my family and I which should be like the old times! (more…)
