What a scary word, isn’t it?? I have only ever heard of it vaguely in the past and have not known much about it. The Vet called our house today in regards to the biopsy that was done on the lymph node of my dog, Thunder. It turns out that he DOES have Lymphoma but it is a slow moving one which means it should be easier to control and hopefully cure. Tomorrow he is going in for his first round of chemotherapy. Reading up on sites, they are saying that chemotherapy for dogs isn’t the same as for humans. Basically it means medicated treatment-so the sound of it at least isn’t quite as bad. (more…)

What a day today!! I scheduled a few makeup lessons today at the music academy where I work. I have been VERY nice with some families and have given them the opportunity to come in for lessons that would count as fill in lessons for the ones they have missed. I don’t do this very often because I have found that this year, more students are taking advantage of the fact that I am making time available for them to abuse. I usually try to schedule in a few students on a Sunday when I am going to be there so that they can make use of it and get their lessons. I am not obbligated to do that but out of kindness and the fact that some of the kids REALLY need extra time, but I do! (more…)

Today was a SUPER busy today, starting right from the morning! At 9:00 am, the people from the Mystery Shopper ad I signed up for called me. The lady was really nice and explained to me the procedures which was what I read on their website. Everything seemed really good until she told me how much I would get paid to be a mystery shopper..I had to call back just to make sure of this because even I was sort of surprised. The job is very part time with working 0-10 hours a week (interesting about the 0 part!) which is ok-I had set up a full interview for next month because these people fly in to different areas for the interview and then train you that same day. Here we go again…I went to another clinic today and was told that the wait would be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. Fine..I walked around the mall for a bit and found this store closing sale which seemed really good. I found a few small things and went back. I got to the clinic at 3:30. Do you know what time I finally got in the Doctor’s room at?? 5:45. Yes..I cannot believe that I even waited THAT long, but I wasn’t prepared to go and drive somewhere else. I took along Donna’s Dr Laura book with me and continued on the the 3rd chapter (lol I have had that book for SO long!), and along with listening to a family of 4 very loud and snotty young girls yelling at eachother, and another little kid always falling on my feet…I managed to keep my sanity long enough until the nurse called me in! As I type this, American Idol for the 4th season has ended. I have to say that every year is full of ups and downs and anger and happiness with this show! I am a self proclaimed American Idol junkie-that is no lie. I also love me some Canadian Idol too. When I first stumbled on American Idol, the first season, it was about half way in because it wasn’t aired on Canadian television. Once I saw Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson sing their hearts out, I knew I would be loving Idol all the time. From then onwards, I have watched EVERY show religiously for the past 4 years now! With Canadian Idol, I have been able to predict the winner for each year, there is something that I can tell right from the auditions that usually leads me to the winner. With American Idol, I always have my favorites which get near the top, at least the top 2 spots. (more…)

Today has been a really down day-very crazy and no exciting whatsoever. I woke up at 9:30 am to go with my mom down to Inglewood to take our dog to a specialist. The operation he had back in Christmas didn’t stop his lymph nodes from swelling. It came back again and my mom had to make the rounds by going to a few different vets for a diagnosis. Everyone did the usual testing and threw the usual antibiotics at my dog-and charged the steep amount that they normally do. (more…)

Whine whine whine..woe is me…my ear hurts and I thought I would share it with the world! lol Ever since I have been young, I have had this small problem with my ears filling up with wax (ewwww) too easily and getting plugged every now and then. Every time I go for my yearly physical, my Doctor peeks in my ear and finds one of my ears with too much wax. Then she takes out the metal pick and tries to pick it out-sometimes she has been successful and pulled out a small ball of wax..other times she has had to flush out my ear which kinda hurts. As I sit here waiting for my coat of L’oreal Sublime Gelee self tanner in DARK to soak in, I thought I would update my life and the fact that my car got fixed! Hoooooray!! I can now drive it worry free but I had to pay a hefty bill to get that bad boy fixed. I hope that next year sometime I will be able to just lease an all wheel drive vehicle as I think my car is pretty much running on its last breath. It is a good car to say the least, but I know that one day it will just go pfffffffft and beg to be put down. Sigh. (more…)

As I type this, my car is now sitting outside a mechanic shop on the verge of getting fixed. For a few months now, my breaks have been getting very noisy-screachy as well…eventually the high pitch squeaks wore off and everything seemed to be normal. Off and on I would notice a very large grinding sound that was being made everytime I would touch the breaks. I was meaning to get it fixed but it was something I always put off. (more…)

Some things are just confusing to me…some days I believe I am a true feminist and some days I believe I am pretty cool. I don’t run around saying that men are jerks and pigs, because they aren’t…I don’t start debates saying that women should rule the world because we are God’s gift..but I do have some interesting thoughts about my species as a whole.
