Well, good golly Miss Molly!!! I have to say that it has been a while since I have updated my blog, much to the shagrin of all my loving audience members I am sure!!! Aside from being really busy with my final recital preparation and seeing Russ, I haven’t had much time to actually sit and catch up on here. Plus, my hip bones were REALLY acting up, even the left hand side getting to be so out of whack that I couldn’t sit for long! UGH! Since then, I have been to the chiro and have had my left hip cracked in to place. I am still skating on very thin ice though because small moves still hurt my left side! (more…)

Can we get an UGGGGGH MAN in the house?? I can’t hear you…say it with me now…UGGGGGGH MAN!! Today saw a VERY long day for me and it has been a while since I have had to pull out 13 hour days!! I had to attend the all day seminar at the Glenmore Inn. I was already very tired just after 1:00 am last night, so I fell asleep really nicely even though I had my alarm set up for 7:00 am. When I woke up, it was sunny and warm in my room and GASP 6:45 am! EWWWW-I NEVER try to wake up on purpose before 7:00 am, but I had to be at the hotel for 8:00 am. Surprisingly enough, I was out of the house at 7:15 this morning without having to rush!! (more…)

Well it is the day before summer and I have to say that I am really tired. VERY tired if you can imagine that. Sometimes people find it hard that Miss Lisa who always smiles and has energy can actually feel pooped. I don’t think that I have ever recovered from my last days of school just a few months ago. It was GO GO GO since September (thankfully I had some time off beforehand to get really pepped up..but in turn, I ended up going to bed every night at the weee hours of the morning!), and now I can feel that it is time for silence..time for a holiday-but of course, I am not going anywhere. That is ok for me in a way because a holiday for me is not having to teach or go to be taught at school. (more…)

Ok can we be done with weather yet please??? Tonight was another harsh downpouring of rain here in Calgary. Thankfully I didn’t have to drive in it but my mom did-the lucky lady!! I didn’t do anything constructive except run around the phone today and get booked on the University website for year 2 of my Ed degree. How exciting to see that tuition will be just over $2500.00 PER semester…yup another $5000.00 again this year, but then it will be over! My schedule is that for the first semester until Christmas..I teach at the school near my home from Mon-Thurs. Not to mention that I teach at night as well for the music academy so THAT is going to be tricky! I also have to go to school on Friday’s in the morning (9 -12) which should be ok but that means early morning wake ups! EWW! 2nd semester will have me at school Mon, Weds and Fri with Mon and Fri being 9-12 and Weds being 9-2 pm.

Not toooooo bad so it seems like I can definitely keep working on my own teaching until the end of the year pretty smoothly!! (more…)

Today was a day that needed some zest in it, some extra zing and a victim to find that zest and zing in Of course, other than the fact that I decided a few days ago that Russ should get creative and have streaks in his hair, and that I should be the one giving him those streaks (like I have SO much experience in streaking!!), I figured that today was a day to try something new!! Thankfully my victim, errr, my handsome partner agreed on having his hair done even though he cringed, cracked his voice and let his eyes pop out of his head when he saw that I brought the box with me today…”Today??” he said in a boyish voice that only a 7th grader could understand. “Today!” I said in my high pitch voice which can scare away coyotes!! Ok I have to say that I am TOTALLY sick of this weather…when will this rain go away for good? It isn’t even just raining anymore..it is downright pouring to no end! When I went to work today (blah I didn’t want to wake up!) and had a jam packed day ahead. I had a recital mixed in with other teachers in the middle of the day followed by an hour long lesson afterwards. Thank goodness my hair was really rocking it out today though..I love those good hair days. Kinda tough since I am growing out my bangs and they are now in the dumb phase, but nevertheless, I DO get those good hair days-plus I got a good 2 inch trim which helped. (more…)

As I am sure many of you have heard, there is an insane amount of flooding happening all around Alberta due to the heavy rainfall. It has poured rain down more in 5 days than it usually does all year. Many areas have had to be evacuated due to the high rise in the river waters which has been rather scary. Of course, out where we live, that isn’t so much of a worry because we aren’t really close to any rivers or lakes! While we were watching the news, we found out that the resort where my parents cabin is has been completely capsized by flooding! Uh oh…and do you think anyone from that area would have called us to let us know that there was a potential of a flood running through that area?? (more…)

I tend to have very interesting, sometimes prophetic and mostly vivid dreams. Since I get quite a few, I thought I would start a seperate category called My Dreams on this blog-why not? I am a big believer that dreams can tell your future and remind you of your past. Two nights ago I had a really cool dream. I am sure there was more to it but I didn’t remember everything. Isn’t it funny how you only ever remember the middle of a dream and not what happens at the end?? (more…)
