That is really all I can say for the moment..and it isn’t even the end of the week yet. I guess I should start the bitching early since it will take me a few minutes. Remember last year when I hated the school I was placed in because the teachers were such honks and they were rude to us? Well I thought that class was tough to teach-even though the kids were coded for severe behavioural disorders, they weren’t always that bad in the end. Then again, it WAS Grade 4 and they were pretty decent kids which I thought very highly of. WELL-lemme tell you, at this school where I am at, I love the place, love the staff but the kids I am dealing with for the most part are little TERRORS! Yes, terrors who are about 2 feet tall, cute as buttons but TYRANTS!

What a crazy and busy week this has been!! I have barely been on the computer to do anything, not even my homework (which I am taking a break from doing right now). The start up of this new school year has really taken off. I started my practicum teaching Grade 2 with a school out by where I used to go to school my entire life. The first day was a Professional Development day that was held downtown and it was GREAT-oh wait, I wrote about that already. Ok, well on Tuesday was when I started in the school for the first time-let me tell you, WHAT A DIFFERENCE from this school to the one I came from!! (more…)

Friday was my first day back to official school on campus at the University. Friday mornings from 9:00 am-12:00 pm are reserved for us students to be in the classroom at the University in what is called our Case Class. I actually arrived there on time which is always a shock, and the class was pretty full of about 19 people. It is good that I know 2 other girls from last year and since then we have become good friends-the other people I have no clue of. We were grouped in this class according to the schools we have to do our practicum in. One other girl I know is doing her practicum in my school which means that I will have an ally amongst the teachers that I don’t know. (more…)

OK-OK…I figured that since you may have read Donna recent entry about her visit with Christine Hurley, AND Alicia past entry-I would FINALLY write about my experience with this great psychic. Especially since my reading happened 3.5 years ago-it would be a great way to validate what happened with me, so that you all can wait and see the great things that will happen with Alicia and Donna! I have to say that a highlight of the summer has been finding these East Indian inspired outfits from Winners…ahhh like this one…remember that I got this same style in that light green? Then a few weeks later I found the SAME style in a slightly smaller size in this wonderful royal blue shade…I snapped it up immediately. (more…)

Noooooooooooooo no….not NO MORE SHOPPING for me…I put in my THANKS BUT NO THANKS to the company where I was secret shopping with tonight! I have really enjoyed the shops but I have found that it has cost me more money than I am making to shop at these stores. Especially when it is food related-it has been hard to just stop at one item-something for only a few bucks-you get these neat things that you HAVE to try, but by the time the bill is tallied, you end up spending 20-30 bucks. Keep in mind that you only make just under 10 bucks an hour..so you either break even or come out with less. (more…)

That is right…the REAL job-not that what I was doing over the summer wasn’t real or tiring-but I got to go back to teaching on Tuesday night which was great. It was nice to be back again with a different schedule and my usual students. The first day back is always tricky because students don’t practise and have nothing to do. I usually spend the first lesson listening to their summer stories, what they did, where they went, etc. Then we discuss the school year and what will be happening. You know, easing them in gently! Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd another ones done! WOO HOO!! Yes, I am finally finished that 2nd temping job I got and JUST writing about it now. Actually, I wish I woulda wrote about it earlier in the week because my take on the place changed a bit once I found out what was REALLY going on. I also didn’t want to write anything (because I haven’t really loved the place) negative while I was still working there.
The first day I went there, I was early-but I forgot which door to go to so I ended up being there 10 minutes late. Duh, I got the rooms wrong. The building is rather small and there isn’t an elevator-just one flight of stairs. VERY small-but that was ok. The receptionist was nice and she introduced me to the girl who would help me out…it was just a HI THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE DOING. And she jumped in..no time for talk, no cares about who I was-just that I was the TEMP. She showed me this program for entering courses and scheduling which made NO sense to me…I asked questions, she answered them, but I didn’t get it. (more…)

I can’t believe that it is already the first of September. It seems like it was Junde 26th just yesterday-oh wait, it practically was! I had no idea what I was going to do for the summer but I was looking forward to the break. If I recollect, I was looking furiously for some sort of job and getting no results. This summer has been very busy surprisingly-more so than any other summer I suppose. I got to try my hand at being an assistant at the cooking school, (coincidentally I just found out that the lady I was working under is no longer there which makes me wonder if the cooking school is still happening or not), I also got to partake in a hugely successful garage sale, then I got my first ever hair style (which I still LOVE to this day!), and moving on to temping with 2 jobs at 2 weeks each.
