These are a few of my favorite things…
posted by LisaDarlene at 5:45 pm

So what do I want for Christmas? Most of the time, I never really know…maybe that is because I think of things throughout the year and then forget about it. When I hit the mall and happen to see something I had wanted from months ago, I will just end up getting it myself-and that is ok. My brother is pretty smart-he will get me tix to Stage West and Stars on Ice every year…it is a great gift, but I do tire of going to Stars on Ice every year so somehow I need to drop a hint that me no wanna go no mo!! My New Forum!
posted by LisaDarlene at 1:15 am

Another forum…is up…again! I am rather excited about it as I am happy to be back on the forums again! Long ago, the cool site called Billynotes was started..hmm…2 years ago this January-I love the name because I came up with it and it has since rocked! Actually, my forum days started waaaaaaaaaaay back when…back when American Idol first started-season 1. I was new to the whole forum idea and chats but I met some fast friends and was heavily involved with the Justin Guarini forum. Then I moved over to the Clay Aiken forum during his days, but that place was SOOOOO huge-it was hard to keep up. Oh mind you, the Canadian Idol forums were pretty cool, and that led me to the Kovered in Lies forum (Billy Klippert’s old band)…and from there…well…the rest is history I guess!

Oh wait-how can I forget that I sort of hung around the Josh Groban forum too? That was an ok place but again, really too busy!

Each forum had its own uniqueness and fun-and controversies, scandals and war…but that is ok. The wars were HUGE when they happened, but people still hung around to help clean up! haha.

I have been so busy with my own life that I haven’t had much time to even hit my usual forum of The Polyjesters. Yikes…now with school being over, I decided that it was high time to start a forum (with the definite aide of Russ!) that didn’t deal with just entertainers and artists…but one that deals with LIFE-anything…everything!

I have been toying with the idea for quite some time but never really thought of it because of my hectic schedule. Well now was the time. Russ downloaded a cool forum template and style called SMF to use and I have to say that I LOVE it…it is so easy to admin and use.

So I have hit the place hard-with every category I can think of…and of course there IS room for entertainment, sports, health, games and much more…but my goal for this forum is to make it a Seinfeld-esque place to hang out. Not something you abandon every other board for, but merely a place to go when you want to talk about anything…vent about something and maybe just hang out with new people or old friends!

And therefore…we have…. Let’s Tawk… a place to just go and talk….I used the word TAWK because I love the New Yorker accent and Joan Rivers is very good at saying, “Let’s Tawk” (to some degree)…and with my lovely autographed photo that I have of her, I figured she wouldn’t mind my New Yawker dribble!

So come and join me..whether you just want to browse or feel like saying hi…come down to my place and, yup, you got it…be prepared to….tawk! ;)

FINISHED!
posted by LisaDarlene at 10:50 pm

Gooooooooooodness….I am so sick of always writing a new saga with my schooling-so I hope that after today, I will be DONE with this whole nightmare! My condolences with all of you who have had no choice but to read everything I have written about my attempt to be a teacher!

So here is what the status is as of now…yesterday I went to meet with my Professor at the University-just for some chit chat and such. Before I met with him I went up to the office and got my withdrawl form which would require 3 different signatures from ALL over the campus (why, I don’t know!) before completion.

My Prof and I had a good talk about EVERYTHING that was going on-I told him every single thing that my teachers were and were NOT doing to me and he was shocked! He said he felt terrible that he didn’t know earlier to get me in to another school! Too late now I guess. Of course, I kick myself for not saying something sooner, but I thought I would just “get it over with” and finish!! So much for that! (more…)

At the Finish Line
posted by LisaDarlene at 1:33 pm

Wait a second…look up at the top of this page-notice the time…what time do you see? (oh wait, it might be still on the old time, I have to change that) Anyways, it is 12:00 on a MONDAY-yes, lunchtime on a Monday and I have just finished a nice shower, put my hair in rollers and have had a seat at the computer. Yes, on a MONDAY!

So why am I not at school? Because I didn’t go today!

Yesterday I had to be up at 6:45 am (on a SUNDAY!) to go and meet my teachers at the school to help them with report cards. Surprisingly the day went by really fast. I had the marks that I came up with for all of Social, Science and Math and we took each students report card at a time. It literally took 5 hours to complete giving them actual number marks-then another 2.5 hours to give them comments-and my teachers already decided on the comments beforehand or else it would have taken all week!! Sit and Wait…Again
posted by LisaDarlene at 12:02 pm

Yesterday I was sure to try and contact the Assistant Dean from the
University and somehow make an appointment with him. I decided to call on my way to school at 8:00 am and thankfully he was IN his office!! So I made a 2:00 appointment with him and went to my practicum as usual. The whole morning was really just spent with the kids doing their own thing, since I was no longer teaching anything, I decided to just go ahead and keep marking those math tests. (more…)

Bursting My Bubble
posted by LisaDarlene at 9:59 pm

And so the saga continues-the roller coaster which has been my practicum has been going up and down, then down and up, and now has come to an almost crash. Yet again I will be writing the newest update of my life and this one is a do-sy!

From what I had gathered, with the blessing of my University Professor, my partner teachers AND the administrators (despite their hesitations), I was going to be teaching my required 100% next week and work my way up there…heck, even you remember that right?? (more…)

Just Do it!
posted by LisaDarlene at 9:43 pm

This entry will be short as I should get back to my work and get my week planned out for teaching. I have decided that I want to take the rest of this semester in school as planned-teach 100% the week after Remembrance Day. I woke up and decided that if everyone else can do it, then so can I! I talked to my Prof on Friday and told him that I want to teach 100% and if I am not good at it or ready, then I will just withdraw and do it over again in September. At least I will have been able to try! He was all fine with it and told me to talk to my teachers! I was nervous about talking to my teacher but I decided to call her up tonight and ask. I had to do it or else I would end up being screwed over by everything. (more…)

One More Try
posted by LisaDarlene at 9:07 pm

I dunno…lately (as in the past few days) I have seriously been considering taking on the University and ASKING them to let me take my 4th semester in January and only extend my practicum by 3 weeks. Things have been going really well in my teaching. I have made every effort to arrive 40-45 minutes earlier in the morning. Each time I have been fully prepared with lesson plans SO damn detailed that I could predict where each kid would cough, and I have taught some really good lessons. (more…)
