With all the stress of Christmas just coming to an end, and of course, my lovely monthly visitor coming within the next week, I think it is HIGH time for a bit of venting-perhaps some revelation and always topped off with inspiration.

Whenever I have had the time, I have been watching my new Oprah 20th Anniversary Collection set of DVD’s. I don’t think I have been able to watch all 6 DVD’s yet, but I know I have managed to make it through about 3 or 4 of them from start to stop. They are SO good that when you put one on, you HAVE to sit and watch the whole DVD-all 3 hours!! (more…)

I am writing this post a few days AFTER the fact of our annual Christmas Eve bash, and it has taken literally TWO days to recover from it. No, I am not drunk on anything except lack of sleep…and I have been a lazy ass all day long and am NOT ashamed! You hear that, Lazy Ass Anonymous of Canada? I am NOT ashamed! haha

Anyways, my big, fat Italian Christmas Eve happened with many people, too much food and not enough hours in the day to be prepared. My mom decided that a few days before Xmas Eve, she would have the walls in 2 rooms repainted. She had nagged and nagged my Dad to do it for WEEKS because she wanted it fixed up before Christmas, but of course, my Dad is the president of Lazy Ass Anonymous and didn’t do it! HAHA My brother did the deal but with only a few days before the big event, some Xmas shopping left to do and a lot of grocery to buy and prepare….on December 23rd the walls were painted. My mom had the great task of having to put everything back up again in its place and clean up. (more…)

I have a few blog entries to write but I thought I would write about my dog first since my last entry was about him as well. Last night on Christmas day, my parents rushed Thunder out to the animal hospital. The night before on Xmas Eve, he was really starting to tire out but who could blame him with all the noise and complete insanity going on at our house with way too many people over. As the night progressed, he was sleeping wherever he could and not looking all that well. Yesterday when I went to see him, he was very lethargic and could barely move…I figured it was because he was tired and just let him be. I set up to leave to go to Russ’s house so we could head a ways out of town to his parents house for dinner. (more…)

Christmas is around and it is that time of year to be thankful for the past year and look forward to a new one. I posted a long time ago about my dog underdoing chemo for lymphoma. Since then he has been in and out of remission. He would respond so well to treatment and then his neck would flare up. The vet changed the treatment plan to the 2nd option which is what he has been on-and he went out of remission again. Even though he is still the same and very healthy, the lumps in his neck keep coming back. His lymph nodes swell up and he has to go in for a shot. The problem is happening again and he already had his chemo last week. The procedure is that he can only do that once a month-to have anything in between would be VERY risky. (more…)

Yesterday I went back to my favorite office to temp for the one day only. It was really hard knowing that I had to wake up at 6:50 in the MORNING (ewww) in order to get ready to leave for 7:30. Blech. However, it would only be for the day so that was fine. It didn’t help that at 4:58 AM I got a phone call from a teacher…who the heck calls people at THAT hour? Especially if they know it is your home number?? So that ripped my sleep apart. It was gross waking up in the dark when I just WENT to bed in the dark. (more…)

Tis the season to be broke…but enough about MY life..haha Actually, the skies are opening up and I think the green money will be falling my way if everything works out accordingly. I only have my Dad’s present to buy and then I am DONE. It is a big shame that I don’t get my paycheque until December 30th (I assume??) but that is ok. In the meantime, I got a cheque from my healthcare plan from the University. I have until the end of this month to claim anything that I have had to buy (chiropractor visits) in order to get 80% of it back. S0 I claimed my money from the visits I have had since August and got a $72.00 cheque in the mail! Yay! I will probably have another round at the Chiro before December 31st because I know my hip will go out with all of this running around… (more…)

Well I have just come off a crazy weekend that was SO busy and full of everything!! Now I am totally feeling Christmas in the air thanks to all the festivities that have been happening! Last night was my staff Christmas party. I was pretty impressed that we even HAD one this year as last year we didn’t get one. Not sure why, but I know that for the years I have been with the school, we usually have our staff parties in January or February. Very odd timing. So the fact that it was even happening in DECEMBER was shocking!! (more…)

What a busy and non stop day it has been! Goodness! How can I tell that I will want a bit of a holiday soon?? It didn’t help that all day and night yesterday, my phone line was acting goofy. All of a sudden it clicked off and it never produced a ring tone. This has been the case and nothing has worked. So I called Telus last night and they were going to send someone to test the lines today. So I wake up this morning (ish) and got to work right away. Since the phone line was dead I figured I would just use my cell phone. I cringed because I have to use my daytime minutes. (more…)

Christmas, Christmas-oh you evil Christmas. I love the shopping and everything but COME ON. I need to stop finding extra cute things for me and start focusing on the presents for everyone else!! It is just too hard to resist, so of course, now I am freaking out incase I have gone over my spending and have to return a few things! Oops!! So, I think I have almost everyone covered that I know…friends, check, boyfriend, check, mom, check, boyfriends family, check, chiropractor, check (he got his little box today!), adult students, check, brother..half way there and dad…um?? It is SO hard to believe that Christmas is around the corner!! I still have to get a present for my Dad and Brother..and then I am DONE…I think. I always end up having to get a present for someone I forgot about. That is ok, I can’t wait to empty my container of gifts to those around me-and I feel comforted to know that the mice who like to eat the chocolate I leave laying around, are now totally screwed in to getting through that plastic box!!
