The Week After
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:53 pm

It is already one week since life changed completely around us-can you imagine? One week-7 days gone by that this night turned to a cold and dark one when Bobo passed away. It feels like it all happened so many weeks ago, yet it feels like nothing ever happened at all. (more…)

The Days After
posted by LisaDarlene at 12:57 pm

It has been a tough few days. Hard to believe it has been only two days since our lives changed. It has been a long two days at that but one full of emotions and realizations. You wouldn’t believe how incredibly silent the house is. Even if there are 4 people around and the tv is on with the sound of the water pumps in the fishtanks. It is like someone left and took everything with them. A light has definitely gone out and now we are left sitting with candles trying to capture that same brightness. (more…)

R.I.P Bobo Jan 22/2006
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:45 pm

I figured I would classify this topic under LISA’S LIFE because my dog was a great part of my life. Today I was with him when he left his body and made his descent to another world, somewhere without pain and perhaps with my other dogs. (more…)

Run in with the Law
posted by LisaDarlene at 12:32 am

Call it a black Wednesday or what…when I put on my outfit of black boots, black skirt and a black shirt, I was sure setting myself up for something exciting and memorable today. So this is how the day goes-I get up and get ready to go in to the office…same old story. Get dressed, yadda yadda. Leave the house. I decide that instead of bringing a boring sandwhich for lunch with me AGAIN, that I stop by the Tim Horton’s close to my work to pick up lunch and bring it with me. As I was driving, I realized that my gas was getting pretty low so it was a real toss up if I should get gas BEFORE work or after. It does help that there is a Shell gas station by my work too (and a few blocks before Tim’s as well). (more…)

I Run for Life
posted by LisaDarlene at 3:51 pm

As I was driving to work on a sunny afternoon a few days ago, I had the radio on and a song that was SO powerful came on the airwaves. I listened to the lyrics and they really spoke to me. I don’t know if I related to this song because the message was so strong, or it the fact that it deals with cancer and someone who survived it was singing it…or even because I just met someone with cancer and my dog has been battling his own. But this song was so meaningful to me and so poignant. (more…)

It Makes You Think…
posted by LisaDarlene at 1:28 am

I think everyone needs a story of inspiration now and then-but sometimes you are faced with hard realities and allow yourself to learn from them.

I have been busy with working the day shift at the music school where I teach-and has it EVER proven to be a tough task. I cannot believe that the girl who was in the Education department let everything that worked for years and years just go by the wayside…so here we are trying to pick up after her. I mean, it isn’t Rocket Science to do that kind of job-so what is the problem?? I am going about 4-5 hours to work in the Ed office and do what I can with what I know (thankfully I have done this job before) and then just started teaching tonight-so basically, I will be doing Ed work in the day and teaching at night-nothing more than 8 hours is my limit. A Little Extra
posted by LisaDarlene at 1:14 am

Today was a good day as it turned out to be nice and sunny and SNOWLESS yet again-I tell ya, this is looking awesome for January. I had lunch with Michelle and was intent on stopping by my music studio to meet up with the boss who is currently overseeing the Education area of the school. Since the girl who was doing it quit and left QUITE the mess in her wake (makes me wonder just WHAT she was doing there in the first place), I had been tempted to offer my boss my help to better organize the master teacher schedules and communcations between the teachers and the office.

Since I had done this position for a good 3 summers in a row with occasional spurts here and there, this is something I am pretty good at already. (more…)
