A Change Will Do Him Good
posted by LisaDarlene at 12:24 am

Trust me, I am just as surprised as you are, ok well not really. As you all know, Russel started off with short hair when I met him back on March 13th, 2004:

first meeting

Then as the year passed on, he grew out his hair a bit with another cut that was so horrible, we still talk about it today. Since the two years ago or so, Russ has decided to grow out his hair to however long it could be grown. In two years, we can say that his hair grew VERY long anddown to the middle of his shoulders. He has nice and thick hair with good curl but of course, long hair is also subjected to drying out and getting frizzy here and there too. (more…)

Time To Temp
posted by LisaDarlene at 12:09 pm

Temping can be quite fun as I have had a good 2 summers doing that sort of thing. I got a call bright and early on Monday morning to take on a temping job-of course, I didn’t answer the phone because it was already 7:30 and these jobs start at 8:00 am-definitely not enough time to get up and get ready to take on the road. Then I got another call that day to work somewhere else but it was downtown so I said no. I know, beggars can’t be choosers but I refuse to be stuck in downtown traffic plus highway traffic all the way through the city. Then yesterday I got another call to temp which was good but I was hoping for a better location because the more you say No, the less they call. In my case, I really need some summer options open so I can temp and do my own work too. Thankfully the location was near my current workplace and here is where I am today. I was not thrilled about the 8:00 am start time-I had to be up at 6:45 this morning which wasn’t hard, but it wasn’t pretty either. (more…)

Good Opportunities, Bad Timing
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:33 pm

Think like this….guy is single (or girl, whatever) and nobody comes around, then as soon as guy is in relationship (or girl), lots of girls come around and the guy wonders, “where the hell were you BEFORE I was dating this person???”….so this has nothing to do with a relationship or guys and dolls. This has to do with work….yesterday I turned down another golden opportunity for full time work. I got a call from the head office of the staffing agency that I work with over the summers. They asked if I was done school and then offered me a full time position working downtown at their head office. That must mean that I have completed enough hours on my temping to be considered for full time work! Of course, I said no because of reasons that only a handful know-but if I didn’t have anywhere else to go, I would have snapped this up! (more…)

School’s Over and DONE!!
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:45 pm

What can I say except that I am DONE SCHOOL! WOO HOO!! I was actually done last week sometime but this week will mark my official dash on to an early Spring holiday! I am so happy about it all because I was starting to get REALLY sick of my classes and talking about the same theoretical crap that I already learned in my first semester. I was really starting to lose interest by the time the last month rolled around anyways. I think the struggle was staying more motivated for THIS semester than my last semester as a teacher with the small kids all over me all day long!

Anyways, now I am on to other things and will be pretty darn busy with stuff to do every day (as many of you know but will not comment about here thank you very much! lol). Other than that, my actual graduation ceremony will be on June 15th where I will have to sit around for 3 hours to walk on stage for 5 minutes with that goofy gown and nerdy hat, parading my little piece of paper that too me 3 years to get. I guess after all I went through with this degree, I will be showing up to prove to myself that I DID make it and don’t ever have to do it again!!

Now I can just concentrate on doing my own thing, reading up on stuff, teaching my current students and getting them ready for exams. Life will be pretty good from now on in!!!!

Welcome My New Addition
posted by LisaDarlene at 10:32 pm

I know….like I really need a new pair of Crocs but I totally blame Donna for leaving me the message for the newest and most exclusive pink pair of Crocs over at Cotton Ginny-JUST as much as I blame Michelle for the purple Crocs that she called and left me a message about last summer some time (of which I am still thankful cause I wanted purple ones for SO long!!).

So without further notice…. I got me those light barbie pink Crocs happily today which now means I have TOO many pairs. Yep, in addition to my pink and purple pairs, I also have hot pink, red, light lavender blue, beige and black….I really wish I would have found the light pink and purple pairs back then so that I wouldn’t have purchased the beige ones and hot pink or red ones. I know, excuuuuuuses, excuuuuuuuuuuses but I can’t wait to wear my Barbie shoes-when the weather decides to stop snowing AND raining, maybe I can finally have a chance!!!

Here is a peek at the color of the Crocs although they are a bit lighter in person and of course, not listed on ebay like the link I stole! lol

Happy Easter Everyone!
posted by LisaDarlene at 11:57 am

Hard to believe it is Easter already-it isn’t like there is green grass and sunny skies to support the claim that the Easter Bunny is already in town. I figured that I would wish you all a Fantastic Easter day today, wherever you are. I am just thrilled that tomorrow is my last technical University class and it is only going to be a small potluck party-easy stuff. Then I am FINITO-done with school for now at least. I am sure I will wish I was going to school one day, but for the next handful of months, I will focus on learning about other new areas.

Yesterday started off the trend with Easter in the Ukrainian style-we had perogies, cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, corn and ham at Russ’s parents house. All followed by egg painting ( I have never done that before) and then egg fights (REALLY never done that before). Today, will be the Italian style of Easter with canneloni and sauce (my mom is still the Queen of all things Sauce-like), Shrimp, Salad and Garlic bread..but you wait and see, my mom won’t think it is enough and will want to add about 5 more dishes to the mix!!!

I managed to stay away from chocolates yet again this year but I did enjoy giving them away to my kiddies at their lesson-I still get my fix just giving them out, how sick is that? lol

So with all said and done, I am heading out to Ikea to do some furniture shopping (I always thought I would hate that store!) and of course anywhere else that is cheap and useful…oh and thanks to Donna, our newest Croc addict-I am SO gonna be looking at the new pink Crocs she talked about in my voice message the other day. Ok, so I know I don’t need another pair (it will mark my SEVENTH!!! ACK), but if these are the pretty color that I want…then I WILL get them…after all, they go to support breast Cancer research and that could be a pretty lofty excuse for me! lol Plus they totally match the Easter colors all over the stores! Riiiiiiiight!

HAPPY EASTER EGG HUNTING…or in my case…CROC HUNTING!
