Garage sales, yard sales, estate sales…yadda yadda. When you think of them, you think of really shitty stuff on the ground that people have dug out of their basements or from who knows where. Well you are probably right-but when my mom and I decided to join in on the community yardsale that first took place 2 summers ago, it was a real blast. We were able to sell SO many top quality items (think stuff from Winners, Homesense and cosmetics mixed with pillows, housewares, gifts and so on) in a FLASH!! We probably made about $400 by the time Saturday rolled around and banked out around $700.00 by Sunday. About 5 houses had garage sales on our street so this brought out quite a few people-LOTS to be exact!! The weather was great so that helped us out a lot. I remember we were so busy that a few hours in on Saturday morning I had to run downstairs to find more things!! (more…)

I have been watching Dancing with the Stars for the past 3 seasons and have loved it. I must say that this current season had some of the BEST performers right up to the top 3! I was rooting for Joey Fatone to win cause he is just a great performer and so light on his feet-of course, Apollo winning wasn’t bad either. I was quite excited to hear that the tour was coming to Calgary-kinda suprised that only 3 Joeys and one Drew Lechay were coming to town as celebs and not any other female celeb. My big question was how were they going to fill an entire 2 hours with dancing?? Last night my family, Russ and myself went to watch the show from very cushy (but facing the end of the ice rink which was a bit far) seats. I decided to dress up in a fun dress since it was the theme and the weather was just GREAT! (more…)

Ok I have always known the magic of ebay and online shopping-I don’t get to do it that often nowadays because I just don’t…of course, when I have access to high speed internet and am getting paid to practically do nothing all day, THAT is when online shopping is cool. However, at some of these offices where I temp, they don’t let you get on yahoo mail or ebay or any of the REALLY cool places. Lemme just say that you know Russ is a genious techie-why? Because he has programmed his sites (the forums and blogs) to be seen no matter which computer you are on…so basically, the filters don’t block them and I actually can have something to read at work…THANK YOU!!! Ok….I know…this is REALLY REALLY bad, but not so bad because I got a different style..yes, I got ANOTHER pair of Crocs-not something I wanted to do but fate had it happen to me!!! I went to do a few hours of temping at a new worksite-as the lady at the desk was helping me, I noticed she had on a different pair of Croc flipflops..not those ugly rubber kinds but a softer version. I didn’t ask her where she got them from but assumed they had hit town. They were quite cute and lighter colored. I forgot all about them until I had to swing by Chinook center after my seminar with Yamaha today. I strolled down to the food court and just happened upon a sport store where I saw Crocs hanging in the window. I saw the new style and decided to try them on…they also had more of the rubber kinds but slightly different than the originals. (more…)
